Healthy Vending Machine Guidelines
Recommended healthy beverages and snacks for vending machines at your location are listed below. KSA can help you to incorporate these healthy choices.
Recommended Beverages:
* Bottled Water, such as Dasani Water or Aquafina Water
* 100% Fruit Juice such as Very Fine Apple, Orange or Grape Juice or Minute Maid juices to go such as Orange and Apple
* Vegetable Juice such as V8
* 1% or Skim Milk
* Non-Carbonated Calorie Free Flavored Water such as Propel
Recommended Snacks:
In 1 to 1 ½ ounce servings of snack foods, look for less than 30 grams of carbohydrates, less than 360 milligrams of sodium and fiber. Low fat items are best.
THE BEST:
* Fruit: fresh, canned, or dried
* Breakfast Bars/Cereal Mixes such as Kellogg’s Nutra-Grain
* Cereal Bars and Oatmeal Bars
* Nuts
* Sunflower Seeds
NEXT BEST:
* Baked Chips
* Pretzels such as Snyder Sour Dough Pretzels
* Crackers/Cookies such as Keebler Animal Crackers, Nabisco Fig Newtons or Teddy Grahams
Packaging makes a difference! If packages contain more than one serving (1 to 1½ ounces), calories, fat, carbohydrates and sodium will be higher.
